Stock Show 2009

The weather was fantastic the day of our county stock show! It kind of made up for all those years when we were freezing our _ _ _ _ off.
This year Zachary and Jack each had a goat. This is the fewest show animals we have had in a long time. With feed cost so high this year everyone cut back on animals. The total animals in the county show was less than half what it was last year.
Both boys did a great job with their goats. Zachary had a 1st place in the medium weight category and Jack placed second in the heavy weight category.

Yep you guessed it – a girl won showmanship. Zachary and Jack really did a great job with their showmanship. Great job guys, we are very proud of you!

Kristen Goes Hunting

Kristen had a lot of fun being home from college. Among other things she decided that this was her year to harvest a deer.

Jack was her main hunting buddy though Zachary and Jacob Killian also provided guide service. Finely the last weekend of the season she got a buck. This one was a scrappy little buck. His antlers showed that he had been in many a fight.

A Great Friend

During the holidays Bev and I had an o’ll friend stop in for a visit. Claudette Hand, from Canadian Texas, came down for lunch and a lot of catching up. Claudette and I worked for Dick Waterfield back in the early 80’s. Some people you meet just become life long friends.

Bev's Birthday 2008

What can I say – Bev’s birthday is always a lot of fun.

She is not really old enough to need all the help but some simply could not resist.

The birthday games were fun! Thanks Kristen & Nick

Don’t know how she does it but she gets prettier every year. Keep it up! (and teach me how)

Good thing Kristen got her looks from her mom.

Jack's New Goat

Jack has inherited Kristen’s love for animals. During the holidays he bought a new goat.
Meet Woodstock the goat...........

Abby and Chubbs are wondering what kind of new dog this is.

Wilhelm Christmas 2008

This year the Roger and Lisa hosted the Wilhelm Christmas. They had the great idea to have it at the Ritz Theater and utilize the reception room there for the party and then stay for the movie. It was the perfect place as it was already nicely decorated for Christmas.

The Ritz Theatre located in Wellington, Texas was built in 1928, and was the first theatre in its area to show talking pictures. After several years of restoration it reopened in 2007 and is a wonderful re-addition to the Wellington community. Here is a link so you can read more about it.
