Craig Odom - Baseball Guy

Craig Odom, our nephew, did a wonderful job playing 3rd base. He plays on the Yankees team at Happy Texas. This is the same ball field that his dad Kyle and I played on when we were kids.

Fort Scott Kansas

Traveling back from central Missouri I came through Fort Scott Kansas. They have done a wonderful job refurbishing the buildings. Pictured here (foreground to background) the well, flag pole, powder storage bunker, hospital and downtown Fort Scott.

Portland Maine - The Downtown Area

Portland is the largest city in Maine with a population of 64,249 citizens as of 2000. Portland, Maine was originally called Machigonne (Great Neck) by the Native Americans who first lived there. It was settled by the British in 1632 as a fishing and trading settlement and renamed Casco. In 1658 its name was changed again, this time to Falmouth.

The New England style architecture is beautiful. Its amazing how old many of these buildings are. This picture is taken looking down towards the port area.

Portland has the largest number of restaurants per capita of any town in the U.S. Yes, they are very good. No weight lost on this trip. Darn!

Travels to Canada

Travels this week took me to Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. This is about 150 miles south of Calgary. The country is very nice rolling plains with a lot of production agriculture. With the exception of the river valleys the country is pretty flat. The Old Man River runs past Lethbridge and is a deep wide valley. In 1909 the Canadian Pacific Railroad built this train teasel over the river. It is the highest of its kind (413 feet above the river) and longest of its kind (5334 feet- a little over a mile long). It is still in use today. Truly a engineering marvel. (click on the pictures for a larger view)

Catherin Kerr from our headquarters in Westbrook Main was traveling with me. Here she is show standing next to one of the legs of a bridge towers. This will give you an idea of how big this really is.

Spock is really from Canada! Yep, that's right. Vulcan is not a planet its a town in Canada. We had to stop and do the tourist thing. This is a picture of me standing beside the Starship Enterprise. "Live long and prosper!"

Back in Calgary to catch a flight to Texas I woke up Thursday morning to 6 inches of snow. It was pretty but I was glad to leave it behind in Canada.

Kids & Pets

These pictures were taken here at the house in Wellington the day after the Wilhelm family reunion (held in Elk City OK). Nicholas and Tanner (cousin) stopped by the house for the day to grace us with their company (or stopped for food). Kids - Zachary, Jack, Nicholas, Kristen, & Tanner. Pets - Robert, Abby, Rex, Chubs, & Spike.

Travels to Florida

I was in Florida and Alabama for some meetings and ended up with a little beach time because of airline schedules. Darn airline schedules.

I flew in and out of Panama City, Florida. Here are some pictures I took at the beach.
