Afternoon Hunt

Late Friday afternoon I went with Zachary and Jack on a prairie dog hunting expedition.

..(remember you can click on the pictures for a larger view)..
On a ranch south of town there is an abundance of them.

Its amazing how much damage prairie dogs can cause to good grass land.

You can start to sense the changing of the seasons in the air. It was truly a beautiful afternoon.
Jack shooting the Browning 22 automatic that my dad gave me when I was very young.
Zachary working on his proficiency with a pistol.
For some of the distance shots Zachary elected to step up the fire power.

This is a sweet shooting little rifle.

Here you can see how much damage prairie dogs cause. Notice on this side of the fence all the grass is gone. On the other side they have a better prairie dog management program.

Spending time with your sons, out hunting, in the great wide open space of the Texas Panhandle, - - it just doesn't get any better than this.
